Connecting to Nature – Nature Journaling – S3

Tuesday 10th September – Week 8, Term 3

Nature journaling is a method used by scientists to record their observations of the natural environment. It is a fun and relaxing way to connect more closely with nature, to improve observation skills and to allow students to create something completely unique to themselves. Send a team of 4 students to explore Bournda National Park focusing on nature, why it is important, how it makes us feel and why we need to protect it. Students will use nature journals to help them connect with the living world along the way by drawing, sketching, making seasonal observations, asking questions, note-taking and writing creatively. Students will keep their journals so they can continue to record their nature observations at home or at school.
