A meal fit for a planet!

World Environment Day is the United Nations Environment Program’s (UNEP) most important day for encouraging worldwide awareness and action for the protection of our environment. Since it began in 1974, it has grown to become a global platform for public outreach that is widely celebrated in over 100 countries.

For the past 42 years the Bournda EEC WED Dinner has celebrated our beautiful planet and ways to protect it from harm. This year we invite you to join us online for a dinner with a difference with The (fantastic) New Graces.

Send us the meal plan of your WED Meal Fit For A Planet and tell us how the ingredients contribute to protecting biodiversity and easing the burden on the world’s precious resources, in line with the 2020 theme, #TimeForNature.

Share photographs of your meal and your Covid-19 safe gathering with the hashtags #MealFitForAPlanet #TimeForNature #WED2020

The musicians playing for World Environment Day

To everything (turn, turn, turn)
There is a SEASON (turn, turn, turn)

As we celebrate #TimeForNature, what could be more appropriate than musical accompaniment from The New Graces!  Seasons, their brilliant new album, has just reached the Number 1 Australian Country Album position on the ARIA Charts so we feel very privileged to have Robyn, Kate and Mel supporting the event. Their music is imbued with a deep sensitivity and care, for people and the environment, that is so desperately needed in these times.

The $10 cover charge (plus 50 cent booking fee) will be our contribution to helping these talented local musicians weather the coronavirus storm. You can donate more if you want to and they absolutely deserve it!

SO, the ingredients so far are local food, local creative talent, local environment and local action!  If you are jumping out of your seat and asking, “I want in but how is this going to work?”, read on!

How is this going to work?
