Term 2, Week 6, Tuesday 4th June

Challenge your students with this hands-on STEM / History based day. The program will begin with a look back in time at Scott’s Hut which was originally built in 1890. Students will learn how this architecturally and historically significant building was made and will use traditional hand tools to create a replica of the Hut. Students will also learn how to stitch a leather pouch and learn how to use knots and lashing techniques to secure items together. Using these skills students will design and create a number of items and take on the challenge of designing a structure to hold a basin of water.
