Environmental Science by Bike – Stage 3

Thursday 16th June

Come and explore the waterways of Bournda National Park by bike. Starting at the Bournda Environmental Education Centre students learn how to use a map and compass to navigate their way around the National Park. Students will ride to different sites using scientific equipment to collect water quality data and dip nets to collect live specimens to learn more about each unique aquatic environment. They will compare fresh and salt water sites, using scientific methods to record and analyse their data. Students will need to be competent bike riders and can bring along their own bike and helmet, alternatively they can use one of the Bournda bikes.
