Students learn how scientists work to protect and look after our environment and the animals living in them from a scientist who has had first-hand experience working with chimpanzees in Africa. They develop an understanding of Asian and African rainforests with a focus on Great Apes and they learn how the forest and the apes depend on each other to survive. They explore parts of the National Park and examine some rainforest species. Students work in a fun and interactive way to discover and learn all about the Great Apes – even how to speak chimpanzee! Students use their knowledge of the rainforest to inspire the creation of an artwork to take back to school.
