Up Close with Minibeasts- Stage 2

Term 2, Week 9 & 10, Tues 26/6/18 (FULL) and Mon 2/7/18 (STILL OPEN!)

Welcome to the wonderful world of minibeasts. In this program students learn all about the wide variety of minibeasts, their life cycles and habitats. Students are shown how to safely search for and catch minibeasts before beginning to collect and record what they find. Students learn to identify and categorize using a min beast recording sheet with ID drawings. iPads are used to photograph the different species they have found. Students then head back to the Science lab at Bournda Environmental Education Centre where they can further explore their minibeasts using a high powered digital microscope. Now they are really ‘Up Close with Minibeasts!’ Students are introduced to how citizen scientists can use NatureMapr to record information on their discoveries.
